About me
I have been teaching English, German and Spanish for over 25 years at universities, in high schools and secondary schools, evening colleges, language schools as well as to numerous private students and corporate companies in many countries on 4 different continents.
I love working with students of any age and at all levels, who would like to learn a foreign language but may find it difficult sometimes to get started or to stay motivated.
The best piece of praise I ever got from a student was:
“Your lessons are brilliant and such a joy. I never thought it would be possible for me to learn so much and have fun at the same time”.
It just goes to show that a skillful teacher and a willing student are the perfect ingredients to successful learning
Supporting my students in improving their rusty language skills, helping them learn a language from scratch or guiding them through tough exams makes me very proud.
I follow the communicative teaching approach and tailor every lesson to the specific needs of each individual client. Once people start working with me, they stick with me for years — testament to my tailored approach and experienced teaching-style.
On the flip side:
Being a language student is just as important to me as being a language teacher to understand the difficulties and obstacles my learners are facing when learning a challenging language.
So, at the moment, I put myself in the shoes of my learners and learn Arabic from scratch, with an online tutor based in Cairo.
Despite finding it hard, I take great joy and pleasure in making small but steady progress every week.
When I am not teaching:
I play lots of sports. Running, skiing and scuba diving are my favourites and I love the outdoors. There is nothing more relaxing than a walk in a park, the countryside or the beautiful Jura mountains of the pays de Gex.
